Role Responsibilities

This role is to deliver the operational support and client onboarding for the Client E-Commerce Network infrastructure across the four Client co-location data centres in Japan, Singapore, London and Tokyo. This infrastructure underpins the Client E-Commerce Low Latency and Algorithmic trading applications delivered to Client customers and clients globally.

Strategy

Responsible for contributing to the low latency network strategy and standards and provide operational feedback to drive an effective and optimal low latency network infrastructure. Responsible for assisting the development of operation strategy

Business

Accountable for providing effective and expedient support for the banks E-Commerce low latency specific global networks.

Accountable for delivering the client on-boarding requirements across the global E-Commerce and GDC locations.

Accountable for providing excellent customer service to clients through the on-boarding process.

Responsible for assisting with the creation of automation, standardisation of onboarding and support processes.

Accountable for creating and ensure accuracy of documentation. Responsible for assisting the planning and implementation of BAU network changes. Responsible for performing in-depth latency analysis and troubleshooting. Responsible for managing incidents end to end and take ownership of resolution. Responsible for driving to identify and analyse reason for outage (RFO) and root cause analysis (RCA) for every outage and degradation in the network. Consulted about network capacity planning with detail analysis of the network behaviour. Responsible for demonstrating continuous effort for identifying problematic areas and providing permanent fixes.

Accountable for communicating with clients for providing expert advice. Responsible for working closely with other teams to provide process and project related information when required. Accountable for focusing on internal and external customer experience - "Delight the Customer".

Processes

Responsible for owning and drive excellence in the banks E-Commerce Network and Security incident and problem management processes.

Responsible for implementing project methodologies, processes and tools to execute onboarding and BAU projects.

Responsible for identifying and suggesting improvements to all processes.

Accountable for working closely with other team members to improve all areas of the operational team. Accountable for actively participating in team meetings to drive best practice and cross fertilisation of skills and experience across the global team.

Risk Management

Responsible for driving bank regulatory compliance to device and infrastructure security vulnerabilities. Responsible for identifying and mitigating risks within the E-Commerce infrastructure and ensure risks are tracked to resolution.

Responsible for assisting to provide operational governance for the E-Commerce network estate.

Our Ideal Candidate

5 year's experience in a direct Network Engineer role preferably at a Financial Services organisation.

Graduate degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Industry certifications - CCNP Equivalent is essential (CCIE preferred), Arista (Preferred).

Advanced knowledge of Switching / Routing - Cisco Nexus and Arista platforms - Low latency platform preferred

Advanced knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols

Advanced knowledge of Firewall technologies. Juniper and Fortinet preferred

Advanced knowledge of Load Balancer experience - F5 preferred

Role Specific Technical Competencies

Good knowledge of Low Latency network technologies

Advanced knowledge of Firewall technologies. Juniper and Fortinet preferred

Advanced knowledge of Load Balancer experience - F5 preferred

Understanding of Multicast technology

Experience of Network Management tools - SevOne and Corvil preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Switching / Routing - Cisco Nexus and Arista platforms - Low latency platform preferred

Advanced knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols

Understanding of FIX protocol, feed handlers and other low latency trading tools
