As aL3 resource of his /her team,
  • Takes up technical tasks and also manages delegation for technical issues within the team,
  • animates the team to encourage collaboration and sharing of best practices,
  • supports new technologies and leverages them to provide consistency of service across streams,
  • proposes service improvements for all Big Data services supported throughout the organization,
  • documents, reviews, maintains and shares relevant technical information within the team
  • provides technical knowledge, supports services both proactively and reactively to maintain the availability and reliability of system infrastructure in accordance to the SLA,
  • works in line with policies based on LEAN-CA-CIB best practices,
  • Actively engages during any high severity issue and drives for issue resolution.
  • reviews technology changes to identify potential risks,

In addition,

  • supports his/her team during diagnosis when technical issues rise in his/her scope of expertise,
  • is aware of the global IT structure so that he/she anticipates interrelationships within the organization,
  • engages with technical peer, Development team, Service managers, Architect and project teams on technology roadmap and projects,
  • facilitates transformation projects and suggest future directions for new areas of improvement and change,
  • guarantees the production readiness and license to operate of new projects and solutions
  • is available and able to drive technically, any complex or high severity incidents that occur within the scope of their role,
  • actively engages to understand new technologies and technology trends and reviews them with a view to incorporating them into CACIB operations,
  • actively assists in identifying the most technical skilled candidates for open roles,
  • technically coach and develop partner resources to improve quality and productivity,


Job specific environment and/or organization
  • Working hours will primarily match Europe business hours
  • On-call support will be expected on a rotational basis


Oracle Database System Administrator :
Design, develop, and implement complex physical databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments.
Monitor the performance of databases and makes tuning changes. Oversee ongoing system capacity planning, forecasting, and tuning.
Perform research, prepare technical studies and make recommendations. Prepare business requirements reports, feasibility studies, and cost justification statements. Articulate information architecture to clients.
Consult with higher level resources to ensure consistency of recommendations with enterprise direction. Research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most cost effective design solutions.
Work closely with technical and client management to ensure implementation of database management and support tools for complex business application development requirements and processes in accordance with latest enterprise direction (e.g., diverse development platforms, technological environments, software, hardware and tools).
Consult with IT staff and clients to determine the impact of new or revised applications on information architecture. Consult with clients to determine information management requirements.
Provide training and professional development on new technologies and applications to staff.
Provide development and production support in a 24 x 7 shop. After hour and weekend support is required.

Technical Knowledge
Expert knowledge of Oracle 11g, 10g, 12C , EXACC and EXADATA
Expert knowledge of Oracle security.
Expert knowledge of UNIX - AIX, Solaris, Linux
Expert knowledge of with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Oracle Clusterware, GoldenGate
Expert knowledge of RMAN backups.
Expert knowledge of UNIX shells - Korn shell, bash, perl.
Experience with SQL Server security framework and Active Directory
Experience using Database Vault, Audit Vault and ASO.
Experience using Grid Control monitoring tools.
Experience with SAN storage systems
Strong SQL skills. Ability to code packages and procedures.
Expertise in backup and recovery and fail-over methods and best practices.
Clear understanding of RDBMS fundamentals.
Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures, and ability to write specifications for applications to be developed in relation to security components.
Exceptional communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.

Oracle PeopleSoft DBA Skills:

PeopleSoft Centric Technical Skills/Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of PeopleSoft architecture
Application server configuration and monitoring background
Process scheduler configuration and monitoring background
Experience with PeopleSoft Data Mover
PeopleSoft performance utilities and tracing options
PeopleSoft temporary tables use and performance aspects
PeopleSoft tablespace, table and index strategies
Knowledge of PeopleSoft metadata structure / objects
Understanding of PeopleSoft Messaging
PS Query experience writing and monitoring
PeopleSoft security
